We met in 1996 at The Body Sacred, a weekend workshop in the hills of Pennsylvania that explored the many layers of human emotional, sensual, and sexual expression in a safe, openhearted, sacred space. By the close of that weekend, sharing a conviction that life had brought us together for a reason, we decided to take our connection further. Since then, through many permutations of relationship, we’ve collaborated in holding space to support others to know themselves more deeply—to heal/whole—as we’ve undertaken the task ourselves.

In 2005, we committed to living together and began in earnest the work of A New Possibility. In 2006, we offered our first Alchemical Healing Mentorship (now called Practice at the Crossroads) to alternative healthcare practitioners. Today, this community has grown to include acupuncturists, doctors, nurses, psychotherapists, midwives, bodyworkers, artists, and cultural change makers as well as others who are interested in discovering how deep caring for the soul can transform our personal lives and the world as well.
We married on the Autumn Equinox in 2012. As two queer-identified people, we arrived at this decision after a great deal of consideration. Our vows reflected not only our desire to catalyze one another’s growth through the inevitable challenges and opportunities of intimacy but also our dedication to devoting our union to a cause greater than ourselves. With the 2021 publication of our book, The Alchemy of Inner Work, we recognized the need to create a network to expand our community further, bringing practitioners and those they serve together in one space to explore and deepen our experience of the medicine we have come to call Alchemical Healing.
